Terms & Conditions
The basis on which we quote, carry out and guarantee electrical work.
1. Who these terms are with
Work is carried out by JMO Electrical Services, a trading name of JMO Electrical Limited, of 16 Roffey Close, Purley, Surrey. These terms apply to all work unless something different has been agreed with you in writing.
2. Quotations
Quotations for planned work are free and given in writing. A quotation covers the scope described in it. If the work changes, or something is found that could not reasonably have been seen at the time of quoting, for example concealed damage or existing wiring that turns out to be unsafe, we will tell you before continuing and agree the additional work and cost with you first.
3. Call-out and hourly charges
Fault finding during standard hours of 8:00am–5:30pm is charged at £85, which covers the call-out and the first hour on site. Work carried out in the evenings and at weekends is charged at £140 per hour. Any further time, parts or materials are charged in addition and will be discussed with you before being incurred wherever it is practical to do so.
4. Emergency work
Emergency call-outs are available 24 hours a day. On an emergency attendance our first priority is to make the installation safe. Any repair beyond making safe will be explained and priced before it is carried out, unless leaving the installation unrepaired would be dangerous and you have asked us to proceed.
5. Standards and certification
All work is carried out to BS 7671, the IET Wiring Regulations. JMO Electrical Services is NAPIT registered and Part P registered, and notifiable domestic work is notified through that scheme. Certificates and reports are issued on completion of the relevant work.
6. Guarantee
Our workmanship is guaranteed for twelve months from completion. The guarantee covers our workmanship; it does not cover fair wear and tear, damage caused by others, misuse, or faults in existing parts of an installation that were not within the scope of the work carried out. Manufacturer warranties on supplied equipment are as provided by the manufacturer.
7. Insurance and liability
JMO Electrical Limited holds £2 million public liability insurance. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
8. Access and site conditions
You agree to provide safe access to the property and to the areas the work requires, and to tell us about anything on site that may affect safety. Where access cannot be provided at an agreed appointment time, we may need to charge for the wasted visit.
9. Payment
Payment terms are agreed with the quotation or at the time of booking. Invoices are due as stated on the invoice. Ownership of any materials supplied passes to you once the invoice covering them has been paid in full.
10. Cancellation
Please give us as much notice as you can if you need to cancel or move an appointment. Where materials have already been ordered specifically for your job, those costs may be payable.
11. Complaints
If something is not right, contact Jonathan Oatley directly on 07974 033627 or at jmo.spark@hotmail.co.uk. We would always rather hear about a problem and put it right.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. See also our privacy policy.
